YOKOMO SUPER DRIFT SD3.0;
[Limited Edition]
In the cutting-edge drift machines, the steering characteristics are the most important point in finishing the machine. The new steering system of SD3.0 has a sense of stability that firmly grips the road while still giving the driver peace of mind.
The latest know-how has also been applied to improve traction around the rear, but the SD3.0 is characterized by its emphasis on front-to-rear balance while still ensuring sufficient rear grip. Taking into consideration weight balance, rigidity balance, and roll balance due to the center of gravity, the car has evolved from a machine that only has rear grip to one that also has improved front grip and tracing, allowing for reliable steering control.

Equipped with height-adjustable aluminum shocks on the front and rear, it provides reliable damping and improves tire traction.
A newly designed aluminum bell crank + center link steering system maximizes the steering angle while also taking into account the Ackermann ratio and bump steer, achieving both high steering response and ease of operation.
By tilting the steering post forward, the tie rod position is designed to change higher when steering is performed. The outer side (steering block side) also changes its mounting position higher when steering is performed, so the tie rod itself maintains its original angle, making it easier to maintain neutral steering characteristics.
Changes in characteristics in response to bump steer are also suppressed, and even when the throttle is applied during cornering, changes in behavior are kept to a minimum, allowing for bold attacking during chases.
A new aluminum bulkhead support is fitted to the rear of the front bulkhead. The mounting position on the chassis side is now closer to the rear than before, and the steering post is now fixed to the chassis and bulkhead at the top and bottom, significantly increasing the rigidity around the front.
Even when diving in from a straight line or turning around quickly, the front doesn’t get caught easily, and you can get a stable grip. It has high operability compared to its response, and you can now put weight on the front with confidence.
A lightweight aluminum one-piece axle is used on the front. The width of the vehicle can be easily adjusted by moving the shim, and the rotational accuracy is improved to bring out the best in the front rolling motion.
In addition to the front bulkhead, the upper deck post that also serves as the servo mount and the post installed in front of the battery can be combined to set a variety of rigidity balances. It can flexibly respond to changes in front and rear traction balance due to road conditions and tire grip.
By rotating the motor position around the spur gear shaft, the weight balance can be changed according to the road conditions. Since heavy objects are already close to the rear axle, it is a recent trend to deliberately set the motor position low.
The aluminum rear bulkhead allows you to choose between 3 and 4 gears by changing the gear position. By changing the direction in which the motor is mounted, you can use the counter torque that occurs during rotation to control how the load is applied in the pitching direction.
The bulkhead has been moved further back than before, and the battery has also been moved closer to the rear axle to maximize the axle weight. The universal shaft joints have also been angled to increase rear traction during acceleration.
The rear suspension arms are short, which makes it easier for the roll motion to work in the direction of increasing rear grip, and improves the ability to slide around corners.
The rear spring is a progressive type with a winding pitch that changes midway. The fine pitch helps to suppress micro-vibrations, making it a good spring for drift cars that use hard tires.
Both front and rear suspension mounts are made of aluminum. The rear suspension mount uses an offset type to match the change in bulkhead position.
The rear bulkhead cap can be easily removed with four screws, allowing quick access to the differential, making it easy to change the oil viscosity in the gear differential and perform maintenance when using a ball differential.
The main chassis, which was previously separate, has been changed to an integrated design. The 2.4mm graphite plate has a sense of volume, but the newly designed hollowing out gives it a supple finish.
